Sally Gonzales-Apodaca – Family Practice & Walk-In Clinic

Raised in Alamosa, Colorado, in the San Luis Valley, I graduated from Alamosa High School in 1976 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Adams State College in 1980. During my time at Adams State, I was actively involved in folkloric dancing for four years.

I continued my education at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, completing the Child Health Associate Program and earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1983. That same year, I began my career as a Physician Assistant, joining the family practice of Dr. Richard Rivera, MD.

In 1986, I married Walter Apodaca and became a stepmother to his son, Anthony. In 1991, we welcomed our son, Andres. Our family has made its home in Beulah, Colorado, where we have enjoyed raising our family and serving the communities of Southern Colorado.

Throughout my career, I have remained dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered healthcare. It has been a privilege to work alongside Dr. Rivera for more than four decades, caring for generations of families and contributing to the health and well-being of our community.
